Sally Woehrle has been running conventions for over 20 years; She was a founding member of Anglicon, Westercon 50's chairperson and has poured geologically measurable amounts of time into enriching and keeping the conventions we all love going.
A UW Alumnis and proud grandparent, here are a few of the hats she's worn:
A theme that is near and dear to many in our ranks, this year we have a lot of interesting Panels and Pros that are anxious to get you involved, and who wouldn’t want to be involved with our lineup of Guests of Honor! We have been planning for months and can honestly report that we will have a different slant on this year’s convention. Our multi-track programming will include the standard panel set up, but we will also have lectures and in-the-round events. We will have art projects for the kids – making their own Dragon Eggs in the art room, drawing and games. In our Art Show this year we will have the Guests of Honor select their favorite piece of art, and there will also be a People’s Choice Award as well. Make sure you stop in and vote for your favorite picture or 3 dimensional art piece.. The Dealer’s Room has been re-christened as ‘The Marketplace’ and it will have more of a Mediterranean Bazaar flavor. Our evening entertainments will be back, but we also will be having Concerts both Friday and Saturday Nights. There will be day time musical events around the convention as well. We are planning on a Dragon Egg hunt for the kids and even one for our adult members as well. Talking about games, we will be having several leading Game companies in attendance to speak on the new games being developed and there will be tournaments as well.
In short this year you don’t want to miss RustyCon 31. It will be amazing!
More updates will be coming soon as we get the preparations in place. If you would like to follow us on Facebook, we will also be posting there for announcements!
